Voice of Customer

The overall project objective is the validation of assumptions and mapping them with identified customer‘s needs to obtain a basis for informed decision making.

The VoC Interview Study consists of 3 phases with subordinate project tasks (duration ~6 months)

Phase 1:

  1. Creation of Interview guideline: Preparation of initial guideline draft and alignment for approval
  2. Acquisition of interview partners: Identification of representatives from the relevant industry
  3. Conduction of 1st interview series

Phase 2: 

  1. Review and revision: Raw analysis of 1st interview series and subsequent alignment on focus topic to refine interview guideline
  2. Conduction of 2ndinterview series

Phase 3:

  1. Comprehensive Analysis
  2. Report generation: Preparation of management summary and handover with optional presentation of key findings

Pricing Digital Products

During the last years, many industrial companies have invested greatly and introduced different smart services and digital products into their business. However, many companies are not able to run these offerings profitably, which is why many companies are re-thinking their business models. From our experience, the mismatch between the providers expectation's and the customer's willingness to use and pay for services, such as Predictive Maintenance, is strongly related to an unclear understanding of the value provided by these digital offerings.

From our point of view, the key is to transform the revenue model away from cost-based or guess-based approaches towards value-based pricing models, where the price of a digital product is determined by the value created for the customer. If you are interested in the value-based approach, please do not hesitate to contact us. 


 

Focus Group - Managing Service Innovation

Smart Services have become a key success factor for industrial companies. However, those companies often struggle to develop smart services successfully. A major reason for that is low standardization of service development processes. Our latest benchmarking study "Transformation of the Service Organization" highlights that more than half of all participating industrial companies do not apply formalized processes to develop smart services.
