For the last six months, the Global Production team at ITEM-HSG supported an aviation company in unlocking synergies among the procurement departments of several of its legal entities and European sites. The project followed an initial evaluation of the integration potential of the different plants within a to-be established production network.
Procurement promised to be the most feasible stream to begin. After multiple workshops and interviews with managers from all entities, the main project results were some quick-wins concerning shared suppliers, strategic guidelines for future collaboration, and a new organizational structure for procurement roles in the newly-created production network.
