During the summer months, the Global Production team at ITEM-HSG assessed the integration potential for a future production network of an aviation company. The objective was to support group management in its decision about how collaboration and exchange should be structured. We conducted a quantitative and qualitative evaluation in four dimensions - production, logistics, procurement, and customers – across all legal entities and European sites of the group.
The project results suggested a roadmap of further steps towards a production network among the entities. In the assessment, procurement showed the most significant integration potential. Thus, as a first step in creating the future production network, we started to work with the company on unlocking synergies in procurement.
