Manuel Wlcek presents research at ICIS conference

In December, our PhD Candidate Manuel presented our research on Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms on the International Conference on Information Systems in Hyderabad, India.

The research titled “Revisiting the IIoT Platform Graveyard: Key Learnings from Failed IIoT Platform Initiatives” investigates the failure of prestigious IIoT platforms including Siemens, Google, IBM, and SAP. In total, we derived six key learnings that we integrated into a preliminary model for IIoT platform growth, highlighting evolutionary steps for successful platform growth. As always, we aim to provide practitioners strategic orientation for establishing platform business long-term.
